Sundissential Launch Party -
Keeping it tidy

SUNDISSENTIAL LAUNCH PARTY
Eden – Friday, 30th June 2000
Having been diagnosed with extremely high blood
pressure only 6 months before, and told to change my lifestyle or suffer a
stroke, I thought I was in extremely good medical hands when I went along to the
Sundissential Dirty Doctors and Naughty Nurses Launch Party Ball……..
However, the enormity of the force with which they (sun)dissended
onto the scene at Eden, and the massive check in of UK Regulars, totally coma-tosed
my mind; and the caning tempo of their unique homebrew hard house, sent my heart
racing to coronary levels.
DJs on call to elevate our condition were Steve
Thomas, Rob Tissera, Resident Paul Kershaw and Charlotte Birch.
A special preview set by Mark Tidy had the floor
delirious with bouncy fever, filling the ER and setting the pace for the rest of
the nite.
Had I not been forced to take regular breaks, to peep
outside for my missing photographer, I surely would’ve been a dead duck.
The atmosphere was as sharp as a surgeon’s knife and
this would definitely have been one of the best nites so far, had I not been
attacked outside Eden and hurled into the sea…… but more about that
later!!!!

DJ PROFILE
Mark Tidy
At the very young age of 20, Mark Tidy is definitely
the next hotly-tipped house-proud DJ to watch.
Filled with Nu-Energy and Pure Hard House, and influenced by the likes of
Lisa Lashes and The Tidy Boys, Mark has been playing for about 2.5 years now.
While other Uni-Kids were blowing their cash on ski-ing
holidays and partying, Mark was saving for a pair of decks.
His first set cost only £300 for the full package.
From playing nites in Nottingham at a club called
Essence, he then came to Ibiza last year with some tapes and got a few gigs
playing trance.
He was discovered by Sundissential when Lou Gibbons
heard him play at Hard-8 in Nottingham.
He met his fiancée, Kelly, about a year ago at
Sundissential and she has been a huge inspiration to him.
When asked if it’s been easy, Mark says you have to
love the music, have a bit of luck on your side, especially if it’s a girl
called Kelly; he only plays what he
likes, and he loves tunes that make people dance.
If you’re still in any doubt, we met up with a load
of fans who had flown out especially just to hear Mark play.
